Psychological thriller

End of Story, A J Finn’s second novel embarks on a slow but layered tale as Nicky Hunter, a connoisseur of detective fiction, is summoned by the ailing mystery author Sebastian Trapp to unravel the truth behind his family’s baffling disappearance two decades prior. Set against the backdrop of foggy San Francisco, Nicky’s investigation leads her through a labyrinth of secrets and suspicions, uncovering long-buried truths and hidden motives.
This passage of years makes the narrative slow and difficult to get into but as Nicky delves deeper into Sebastian’s enigmatic past, she becomes entangled in a web of deceit and danger, navigating through a cast of characters with their own dark agendas. With each twist and turn, the plot thickens, building tension and suspense as Nicky races against time to uncover the elusive truth.
.
If you can stick with it, the gripping revelations and unexpected twists will keep you guessing until the final pages. From the eerie confines of Sebastian’s mansion to the atmospheric streets of San Francisco, the setting serves as a rich backdrop for the unfolding mystery, adding depth and texture to the story.
.
As the plot unravels, Nicky’s determination to uncover the truth is matched only by Sebastian’s cryptic revelations and the looming specter of his family’s disappearance. With each clue unearthed and each secret revealed, the stakes escalate, leading to a pulse-pounding climax that delivers both answers and consequences.

For a psychological mystery lover like me, the intricate plot and well-drawn characters with  atmospheric setting, were the plus, just I took some time to get through it!
